A BRIEF HISTORY
Urban and Regional Planning program, Trisakti University is under the patronage of Faculty of Landscape Architecture and Enviromental Technology (FALTL) besides 2 other majors, i.e. Landscape Architecture and Enviromental Technology. This program is a bachelor degree (S1) program, was established in 1996/1997 based on SK NO. 377/DIKTI/KEP/1996, and got accreditation status "B" in 2007/2008 in accordance to the Decision of National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT) Ministry of National Education RI No. 010/BZN-PT/AK-XI/S1/VI/2008.
The founding of bachelor program was based on the needs of physical planners at government that increasing in line with the regional autonomy (otoda) and more job opportunities at private sector. Moreover, based on the data of urban planning graduates of other universities that worked on private sectors were still low which was thought to be due to the lack of qualities among graduates that couldnt meet the demands of the companies that business oriented, also got less knowledge of detailed planning and political insight.
Urban and Regional Planning, FALTL, Trisakti University is developed by pointing to "Urban Development Planning Issues" and hoping that the graduates will acquired "sense of public services and business". In order to gives the added value, besides the main curriculum, the college students are going to be given adequate knowledges and insights about management, economy, and social fields, especially the ones related to physical planning.
